Jet Ski racing may be coming to West Milford side of Greenwood Lake
The International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) has expressed interest in bringing Jet Ski racing to Greenwood Lake. A presentation by representatives of the group is expected to be made at a meeting of the West Milford Recreation Committee early this year at a date still to be decided.
John C. Ringer, vice-president of Greenwood Lake Power Boat Association (GLPBA), brought the information to the West Milford Recreation Advisory Committee meeting on Jan. 19 in the Hillcrest building. He said the IJSBA is considering bringing Jet Ski racing to the Brown’s Point area of Greenwood Lake. Ringer, a member of the West Milford Economic Development Committee (EDC) said the group has spoken about this to the EDC.
The East End Surf Challenge was another glorious celebration on jet skiing, excellent fish tea cooking and fostering of community spirit on Heroes’ Day.
The sun shone and for those that made the trek across island to Collier’s Public Beach, it was well worth the trip.
Although jet ski racing remained the signature event, the weekend included numerous other events that celebrate the Cayman lifestyle, from concerts to that most traditional of foods - fish tea. The Flowers Bottled Water Fish Tea Cook-Off proved to be as popular as ever.

A lot of you have been asking about race dates for 2012 and we have been working on narrowing down at least the dates for you. As we mentioned before we are limited on some of our normal sites and unsure if there will be any of that wet stuff available to race on. We have confirmed there will be water in 90% of the lakes that we are looking to race on. We are waiting on the rest of the process involved to finalize the venues themselves.

Sheriff's Office Proposes Volunteer Jet Ski Unit For Mavericks
SAN MATEO, Calif. — The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Thursday presented federal officials the framework for a proposal that will allow volunteers on Jet Skis to patrol the surf break at Mavericks. The program, called the "San Mateo County Motorized Personal Watercraft Volunteer Marine Rescue Program," could be formed as an extension of the sheriff's marine unit, sheriff's Sgt. Joe Sheridan said. "We would be taking our current marine unit and expanding it to include personal watercraft," Sheridan said.

“It’s definitely been a long adventure,” said Ratti, who works as a stunt and acrobatics jet ski instructor in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Jet skiing, open-water swimming and traditional Khmer boxing drew the biggest crowds and loudest cheers as the one-day Sea Festival, marking Cambodia’s membership of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club, ushered in the new year at Sihanoukville’s Ochheuteal Beach on Saturday.
The first-of-its-
kind festival was organised jointly by the ministries of tourism and culture, with active support from the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and several other federal agencies.
